Introducing a New Way to Make Sense of Your Wellness

  • Heidi Overman

Many people are not lacking health information. In fact, the problem is often the opposite.

Our cups are already full—with advice from doctors, social media, family, friends, podcasts, wellness trends, past experiences, and our own beliefs about what we should be doing.

Move more. Eat differently. Reduce stress. Sleep better. Take this supplement. Stop eating that food. Try another program.

Even helpful advice can become overwhelming when no one is helping you connect the pieces and determine what is realistic for your body, health, priorities, and daily life.

That is why Empty Cup Wellness is introducing our new Wellness Strategist and Personal Wellness Blueprint approach.

What Is a Wellness Strategist?

A Wellness Strategist helps you step back and look at the broader picture of your well-being.

Rather than beginning with another predetermined plan, we begin by listening. Together, we explore your health concerns, routines, responsibilities, challenges, goals, and the many factors influencing how you feel and function.

You may know that something needs to change but still feel uncertain about what to do next. For example, you may:

  • Have received a new diagnosis and feel unsure about how to move forward

  • Be managing several health concerns or recommendations at the same time

  • Want to lose weight but feel as though you have already tried everything

  • Be concerned about your balance, mobility, strength, or ability to remain independent

  • Experience recurring pain, tension, fatigue, or stress without understanding how the pieces may be connected

  • Want to become more active but feel uncertain about what is appropriate for your body

  • Feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice from healthcare providers, social media, friends, and family

  • Know what you are “supposed” to do but struggle to make those recommendations work in your actual life

  • Want to be proactive about your health but do not know which concern to address first

A Wellness Strategist does not diagnose medical conditions or replace your physician or other licensed healthcare providers. Instead, the role is designed to help you better understand your needs, organize the information you have received, identify your priorities, and create a realistic direction for moving forward.

How a Wellness Strategist May Help

Depending on your individual circumstances, this process may help you:

  • Clarify what you want your health, independence, and daily life to look like

  • Understand how a diagnosis may affect your wellness priorities

  • Prepare thoughtful questions for your healthcare providers

  • Recognize habits, patterns, responsibilities, or environments that may be affecting your well-being

  • Explore why previous weight-loss or wellness efforts may not have been sustainable for you

  • Identify appropriate next steps for concerns involving balance, mobility, strength, or healthy aging

  • Sort through conflicting wellness information and recommendations

  • Identify what is already supporting you and what may no longer be serving you

  • Decide which changes deserve your attention first

  • Determine when another professional—such as a physician, registered dietitian, physical therapist, exercise specialist, or mental health professional—may be helpful

  • Coordinate your wellness goals so your different services and providers support a clearer overall direction

  • Create a realistic path forward without trying to change everything at once

  • The goal is not to hand you another generic plan. It is to help you understand where you are, identify what matters most now, and make thoughtful choices about what comes next.

The Wellness Discovery Assessment

The process begins with a comprehensive 90-minute Wellness Discovery Assessment.

This conversation gives us time to explore more than symptoms or isolated concerns. We look at the broader parts of your life that influence wellness, including movement, nourishment, sleep, stress, energy, relationships, responsibilities, habits, environment, and your vision for the future.

We also consider four important questions:

  • What are you ready to reconsider?

  • What may you be ready to release?

  • What is important to protect?

  • What do you intentionally want to choose next?

These questions help us move beyond generic recommendations and begin creating a direction that reflects who you are now—not who someone else believes you should be.

Your Personal Wellness Blueprint

After the assessment, we meet again for a 60-minute Blueprint Reveal.

Your Personal Wellness Blueprint organizes what we discovered into a clear, individualized picture of your priorities and possible next steps. It is not a rigid plan or another list of rules. It is a practical guide that helps you see where you are, where you would like to go, and what may help you move in that direction.

Your blueprint may include:

  • Your personal vision for health and quality of life

  • The strengths and supportive habits you already have

  • Your most important areas of focus

  • Patterns or barriers worth reconsidering

  • Realistic first steps

  • Helpful services, resources, or professional referrals

  • Questions to discuss with members of your healthcare team

  • A suggested sequence so that everything does not feel equally urgent

The complete Wellness Discovery Assessment and Personal Wellness Blueprint experience is $299 and includes both meetings.

If you would like continued support afterward, optional 45-minute follow-up sessions are available for $75. These sessions can help you review your progress, work through obstacles, reconsider what is not working, and adjust your blueprint as your needs change.

You Do Not Need Another Perfect Plan

This approach is for people who want to become more active and informed participants in their own well-being but do not want another one-size-fits-all program.

You do not have to arrive with everything figured out. You do not need to empty your entire cup or change your whole life at once.

We begin by listening carefully to what is already there. Then, together, we determine what deserves to remain, what may need to be reconsidered, and what you want to choose next.

That is the purpose of the blueprint: not to tell you what your wellness should look like, but to help you find a path that genuinely belongs to you.
